I was tagged quite some time ago by who wanted me to post facts about Speck, so it felt like a good time to revive some memories about my favourite bell.

Character: Speck

1. When I was creating a character for PKMNC, the first options were a cowbow-ish Sandshrew adventurer and/or a smug Meowth with a zoot suit. Since none of those worked out properly (mainly due to my inability to properly draw mammalian Pokemon ;_; ) I tried to opt for something less... conventional (I love creating anthro Pokemon that are out of the ordinary! ).

2. Speck's design was originally going down a more creppier route - he was supposed to be a shaddy character, the creep of the town (who am I kidding, he still was the creep of the town =3= ) with some sort of zombie-ish feel to him. He was bound to be some sort of witch doctor that was always hunched and almost dragged his arms across the floor, selling his odd merchandise to unsuspecting costumers and scaring the crap out of little children. His attire was meant to be much more traditional and less modern looking (like some sort of tribal priest/shaman or something).

3. While designing Speck however, I was listening to rock songs as I drew to give me some motivation to keep going (System of a Down, Red Hot Chilly Peppers, Opeth, etc...) and that ended up reflecting in whatever, uuhhh... Speck became.

4. Originally (and throughout his run in PKMNC) I made Speck into being the only son of a Bronzong and a Frosslass (his adoptive mother), but recently I changed my mind and gave him a sister. (screw backstories, right?! |D)

5. Despite originally being terrified of any sort of romance with any female (he was afraid they'd give him the cooties), during his stay in Pokette he ended up being in a relationship with a Buizel named Soak.
6. Speck has a band called "Heavy Metal" (what an orginal name hurr durr ) which consists of him as a guitarrist/bassist, Allein as the lead singer, Munro as a bagpiper and a yet unnamed (and mostly undrawn aside from scrappy sketches!) Steelix as a drummer. The logo of the band is a Registeel.

7. Speck's kind of an hoarder, so his house and backyard in Pokette was always cluttered with all sorts of stuff (mostly things he collected from his journeys or things he tore apart), that piled up in every corner of the house and in the weirdest places - y-yeah, he sorta lived in a pile of junk, actually. (his house was always a mess)

8. Despite being almost 30 years old, Speck is but a youngling for his species (his father is already past 100 years old and is still a middle aged Bronzong). That partially explains his childish personality.

Yeahhh, I kinda made a tumblr to post doodles and stuff. 8T You know, I was getting really tired of continuously posting those here, they're unfinished and ugly and most likely I'll never have time to fully colour them... so, yeah, I jumped in the bandwagon again (last time I did this I made a PMD-E tumblr, ugh e-e''')

Oh, by the way, I'm going on vacay this next week, so I won't be around (not that it's relevant, I'm barely even around anyways... )

On other news, I was in vacation 2 weeks with my girlfriend and it was tops, woohoo! *u* The only complain I have is the sea, I'm used to waves and it looked like a freakin' swimming pool, bah. 8C

I'm sorta back because I'm on vacation now (finally 8U), so maybe I'll poop some random doodles from time to time again.

It's been a long, LONG while since I've been around here, so I hope all you guys are fine (AND SORRY FOR ALL THE BIRTHDAYS I MISSED ;_; ).
